I found some time this weekend to try out another bobbin lace bookmark from the Dye & Thunder book. I think it turned out pretty well. It is the most complicated one I have done to date. The new skilled learned with this bookmark include spiders and doing a "turn stitch." The turn stitch was used to keep the light blue following or outlining each of the spiders. The first several "spiders" are a bit rough, but by the last (toward bottom of photo), I think I was finally getting the hang of it and getting the tension correct.
I have to say, bobbin lace is a nice way to use up some of the thrums left over from weaving. The last 3 bookmarks have been made entirely from thrums.
