Round Robin Samples during Moore workshop at Penland - 2013I recently did a program on doubleweave and multilayer weaving for my guild.  As part of the program, I explored the use of this technique (these techniques) in contemporary art.  Here is a list of the artists I included and links to find more information:

Woven bookI have neglected to fill you in on my June adventures at Penland as both student and studio assistant in Jennifer Moore's Doubleweave Basics and Beyond Class.  It was a jam packed 2 weeks of weaving and learning and fun.  I came home throughly exhausted but it was all well worth it.  I had the joy of studying with someone who has studied doubleweave for 30+ years and has a passion for teaching.  I also had the pleasure of studying alongside a great group of students including Robin Johnston, a resident artist at Penland and Zee Boudreaux, a Core Fellow at Penland.  I posted a bunch of pictures to the gallery section of my website if you want to take a look.

Woven Heart (photo credit: Dina Rossi)In preparation for my upcoming trip to Penland, I hired a wonderful photographer to document much of the work I have made over the last year.  I was lucky to find Dina Rossi, a very talented photographer to do the work for me.
Stay tuned for photos and entries related to my Penland trip!
